Frequently asked questions
What is the ceiling tile layout playground?
A free planning tool for modular T-grid ceiling products — acoustic tile luminaires, LED flat panels, and blank filler panels. Set your ceiling grid size, place a product’s real modules cell by cell, recolor them from the manufacturer’s finish palette, and preview the result in a 3D room viewed from below.
Where do the module sizes and finishes come from?
From each manufacturer’s published product data — the same sourcing rule as every spec on LightKilo. Modules are nominal T-bar grid sizes (typically 2×2 ft and 2×4 ft); the playground never invents sizes or colors a product doesn’t ship.
Can I export or share a layout?
Yes. The tile schedule (module, size, finish, quantity) downloads as a CSV you can paste into a submittal or quote request, and "Copy layout link" encodes the entire layout into the URL so anyone opening the link sees exactly your arrangement.
Is the playground accurate enough to order from?
It is an early-planning and visualization tool on a nominal grid. Before ordering, confirm exact tile dimensions, T-bar compatibility, edge details, photometrics, and finish availability against the manufacturer’s current datasheet — every playground page links to it.
